Thin in terms of plot and characterization, Extraction 2 sadly repeats many of the same emotional beats from the first film, and rarely outright exceeds the action spectacle of the original outside of the aforementioned one-take sequence.Ī quality action film through and through, Extraction 2 stands head and shoulders above your average RedBox actioner, though it overstays its welcome somewhat, and occasionally feels as if it should have been a brilliant 21 minute short rather than a 2 hour Netflix feature. Headlined by Chris Hemsworth, Extraction 2 (2023) is a ballistic action sequel, courtesy of former stuntman turned directior, Sam Hargrave.įeaturing an incredibly slick, 21 minute and 7 second long “oner,” or one-take action sequence, Extraction 2 successfully ups the action ante when compared to the first film, though sadly only for as long as that splendid sequence lasts. Starring Khris Davis as boxing legend, George Foreman, Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World (2023) is a biopic from Christian film production house, Affirm Films.Ī faith oriented sports drama, Big George Foreman is too sanitized to be juicy with its melodrama, however the production is largely competent throughout, and aside from a couple of lackluster impersonations, (the guy they got to play Jim Lampley fails to deliver “It happened!” with the appropriate gusto) the performances are quite solid.īenefiting massively from being based on a legitimately fascinating and incredible true story, Big George Foreman is a serviceable, albeit expectedly preachy sports drama that to be made eventually, but definitely could've been done better. ![]() This week, Trevor conducts a solo review of George Tillman Jr.'s, Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World (2023)! ![]()
